Your data is encrypted so that
even the owners of TruMint cannot read it.
Everything you connect is encrypted with your own key before it’s stored. If anyone broke into our database — including us — all they would find is scrambled data they cannot unlock.
Encrypted with your own key
Every user’s data is encrypted with a key that belongs to them alone before it reaches our database. If our systems were ever stolen or leaked, the thief would walk away with unreadable noise, not your finances.
Only one machine can unlock it
Your data can only be decrypted inside a TEE — a sealed, tamper-proof environment whose memory even our cloud provider cannot see. The master key sits in a hardware vault in London and works for exactly one thing: that machine, running the exact version of our software we published. It never works for a person, and it is never saved as a file anywhere.
No person can use the key
A rule set above the whole company blocks every person at TruMint from using the master key. We don’t just claim this — we test it, and our own accounts are refused. Any attempt to change that rule sets off an alert.
No silent way in
Two-factor authentication protects your sign-in, and there is no admin backdoor behind it: our own admin tools cannot log in as you, and any change to your account that you didn’t make yourself — a password reset, a removed second factor — is caught and emailed straight to you.
Works with any UK broker
Banks connect through FCA-authorised open banking (Plaid and TrueLayer), brokerages through SnapTrade, and any other broker imports through guided CSV mapping.
Every connection is read-only and tokenised: your login credentials never touch TruMint, and everything stored here is encrypted so that no one at TruMint can read it.
